Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

Christ Note is built around scripture and silence — the same applies to your data. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and the choices you have.

SixFortyLabs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Christ Note," "we," "us"), provides the Christ Note iPhone application and the christnote.app website (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information described below.

01What we collect

  • Account. Email and basic profile from Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, via Firebase Authentication.
  • Sermons and study content. Audio recordings, transcripts, AI summaries, flashcards, quizzes, chat messages, and Bible notes you create. Stored in private, encrypted Firebase storage tied to your account.
  • Subscriptions. If you buy Christ Note Pro, the Apple App Store processes payment and RevenueCat tracks entitlement. We never see your card details.
  • Device and diagnostics. App version, iOS version, language, and crash logs.
  • Usage. Server-side counters of AI calls, used to enforce free-tier limits.
  • Install attribution. AppsFlyer with Apple's SKAdNetwork 4.0 — anonymous, aggregate, no user-level tracking. If you decline App Tracking Transparency (ATT), no IDFA is shared.

02How we use it

We use the information above to operate the Services, enforce free-tier and abuse limits, process subscriptions, diagnose crashes, measure ad performance through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework, communicate about your account, and comply with law.

Transcription happens on your iPhone using WhisperKit. Audio is not sent off-device for transcription; only the resulting text is sent when you ask for an AI feature. We do not use your sermon content, transcripts, notes, or chat messages to train AI models — neither our own nor those of our sub-processors.

03Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share your sermons, recordings, transcripts, notes, or chat content with advertisers. The sub-processors below help us deliver the Services:

ServicePurpose
Firebase (Google)Sign-in, Firestore library storage, audio storage, AI orchestration
OpenAIAI summaries, chat, flashcards, quizzes, Bible analysis
RevenueCatSubscription management

AppsFlyer + Apple SKAdNetwork 4.0Anonymous install attribution

We may also disclose information to legal authorities when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety, and to a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

04Your choices

  • App Tracking Transparency. Decline at first launch and we use only Apple's SKAdNetwork (no IDFA).
  • Sign out from Settings in the app at any time.
  • Delete or export your data. Email hello@christnote.app — we process requests within 30 days.
  • Promotional email. Unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email; you'll still receive operational and transactional messages (receipts, security alerts).

05Security and retention

We use HTTPS/TLS in transit, encryption at rest, and Firestore security rules that lock content to your signed-in account. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee data will never be accessed, disclosed, or destroyed by a security incident.

We retain personal information while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of a deletion request, except where we are required to keep records for legal, accounting, or tax reasons (typically up to 7 years for subscription billing). Diagnostics are retained up to 90 days.

06Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact hello@christnote.app and we'll delete it.

07Your privacy rights

If you live in California, the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, and restrict use of your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the GDPR, or your local law. To exercise any of these, email hello@christnote.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

We process personal information under contractual necessity (operating your account), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, performance measurement), consent (where required, e.g. ATT), and legal obligation. Christ Note is operated in the United States; data may be processed in the US and elsewhere by our sub-processors. Where required, transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms.

08Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email before they take effect.
